  • You must be 18 years old, or will turn 18 years old by the date of the next election. A person who has reached 16 years of age but who will not be 18 years old by the date of the next election may pre-register by the same means available to 18-year olds. The registration will automatically become active when the preregistered person reaches 18 years of age.

  • To register to vote, a person must be a United States citizen, meet the minimum age requirements, have been a resident of Colorado for at least 22 days and consider Ouray County to be his/her sole legal place of residence.

  • You may obtain a voter registration form, make changes to your name, street or mailing address, telephone number, email address, party affiliation, and military and overseas elector status at the Ouray County Courthouse, or at any driver's license office in the State of Colorado. You may also download a voter registration form or register online at the Secretary of State's website at Go Vote Colorado.

  • Registrations via voter registration drives and applicable governmental agencies and mail must be received by the Ouray County Clerk's office no later than 22 days prior to the election; online voter registration will be accepted up to 8 days prior to the election; and registration at the Voter's Service Polling Center (VSPC) may be done though Election Day.

  • Voter Registration forms are available at all Clerk and Recorder offices in Colorado, and are also available to download and print from the Secretary of State's website. Complete the form(s) and return them to the Ouray County Clerk. NOTE: When mailing a registration form, it is helpful to us if you also include a copy of your Colorado driver's license or state identification card, if you have one.

  • You are not required to affiliate with a political party and you will be designated as "unaffiliated." Or, you may affiliate with the Democratic Party, Republican Party or any one of the minor political parties, or any political organization recognized in Colorado.

  • There is no fee to register to vote with valid ID. A certified copy of your voter registration can be obtained from the Clerk and Recorder's office for $2.

  • All active registered voters will be sent a ballot via U.S. mail approximately 18-22 days prior to an election. Voters can choose to return the ballot by mail, drop the ballot off at the Voter Service and Polling Center located at the Ouray County Courthouse, 541 4th Street, Ouray, or vote in person at the Voter Service and Polling Center beginning 15 days prior to the election for General elections and 8 days prior to the election for all other elections, through 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
