Ouray County Land Use Department uses an on-line, paperless permitting system called ‘CloudPermit.'

OURAY COUNTY REQUIRES THAT ALL PLANS SUBMITTED FOR A BUILDING OR SEPTIC PERMIT BE SUBMITTED IN ELECTRONIC PDF FORMAT.

All payments for building and septic permits will need to be processed through Cloud-Permit via credit card or e-check. Credit card payments will be charged a 2.4% processing fee and e-checks will be charged $1.50.

Ouray County has re-adopted the 2018 International Building Code, 2018 International Code, and the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code.  To see the resolution Adopting these codes, please click here.
 
Please note that foundation inspections must now be completed by your engineer.  Per resolution 2021-049:  

"Footings, caissons and foundation wall inspections are to be performed by a professional engineer registered in the State of Colorado and any associated costs to be the responsibility of the permittee. After the inspection of the caissons or footers and the foundation wall reinforcing steel, the engineer shall provide to the Building Official a typed stamped report of the results of the inspection. Reports for the caissons or footers must clearly state that they were observed to be in conformance with the engineered design. Report shall also identify any watercourses or ditches on the subject parcel."

Inspection Requests

All inspection requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the requested inspection date / time. To schedule an inspection for permits issued after May 1, 2024 please request the inspection through Cloud Permit.  If you need to schedule an inspection for a permit issued prior to May 1, 2024, please contact the Ouray County Land Use Office at 970-626-9775.
