The Public Health Department is a County Nursing Service located in Ouray. Our address is 302 Second Street, which is located on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 2nd Street.

Ouray County Public Health is supported by residential tax and state funding through the Department of Environmental Health and Human Services. We also have programs that are grant funded. There are several small private sector donations providing services for clients in our county.

The Public Health Department administers programs that affect the county as a whole. We work to communicate, educate, and offer services that will provide a healthy safe environment to live and work in.

Programs that are made available to our residents are Communicable Disease Control; Immunization Program; Women, Infant and Children’s Nutritional Services; Well-Child Clinics; Homemaker Services for residents 60 years and older and Emergency Preparedness Planning. We provide collaborative services with our surrounding counties where it best serves our populations, such as restaurants inspection and water quality evaluation.
