Building inspections should be scheduled at least 24 hours ahead of time. Please call the Building Department at (970) 626-9775 to schedule an inspection. Forms Ouray County to adopt the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) Effective October 1, 2009, Ouray County will adopt the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). Implementation of the 2009 IECC could mean changes to both design and construction of residential structures. New Building Permit Applications as of September 1st must include the following information as is applicable for the project: insulation materials and their R-values; fenestration U-Values and Solar Heating Gain Co-efficient (SHGCs); area-weighted U-factor and SHGC calculations; mechanical system design criteria; mechanical and service water heating system and equipment types, sizes and efficiencies; economizer description; equipment and system controls; fan motor horsepower (hp) and controls; duct sealing, duct and pipe insulation and location; lighting fixture schedule with wattage and control narrative; and air sealing details. Additional information may be required. If you are an architect or builder, please take the time to familiarize yourself with these new regulations.
